I have same problem to decide skimmers(deltec vs grotech)

I read all thread in zeovit about deltec and grotech. but It is very difficult to
decide which is the best choice.

I have plan to have new SPS only tank with zeovit method, It may be about 100~150 gallon.

Now in my current tank, I have schuran 150 skimmer.

I heard Grotech is recirculating venturi with normal eheim pump and Deltec is needlewheel with eheim pump
I heard the bubble size of Deltec is smaller than Grotech.but Grotech use the
normal eheim.so it is easy to buy it, but deltec needlewheel pump is expensive and hard to get in my country, so If I have problem with needlewheel, I may not use skimmer until I receive the needlewheel from USA.

Bubble size is very important factor in skimmer, but Easy-to-get parts of skimmer(I do not know what is it called) is also very important factor.

What is your opinion? I am thinking Grotech HEA200 and Deltec AP850.
(I am not sure two models are same spec)

I have a grotech HEA 150, it was IMO a dissapointing performer. The standard venturi just doesn't compare needlewheels. My Deltec (which is a much, much larger unit--AP702) on the other hand is simply wonderful.

Did you have any problem with the needle wheel? I mean BK needle wheel is titanium,
but Deltec is not. correct? Do I have to change the needle wheel periodically. is it
correct?

and Do I buy the needlewheel in www.deltecusa.us ? I can not find it.

The needlewheel is fine. I would doubt that you would have to change the needlewheel very often at all. Not unless you have some nasty unfiltered water and some serious junk gettting in there.

Actually we use 220V/60hz in my country. but I can use 110V/60hz with

transformer.

I use Schuran 150 in my 100 gallon SPS tank. I think it works well.

Its acrylic work is so great. I love it.

but I wanna have more powerful skimmer in my next tank.

Unfortunately No I have a local agent for Deltec. Our Korean reefer use

schuran or grotech generally. I think there is no one who use deltec skimmer

in Korea. Maybe I will be a first one...
