  • Skimmer recommendation

Hi there guys im planning to do an upgrade to my skimmer i was going to get the deltec turbo 1250 for my 65 gal tank but something has come up and i cant afford to buy that one just yet but i was looking at H&S skimmer more affordable but wanted to know your thoughts of it or any other skimmer in the range of $300-$400 that could do the job well for the zeo system my tank will be mostly sps.I was looking also at Aqua-c skimmers i've seen those in action here and work pretty well but ill be waiting here for your recommendations so i could make the best choice and it has to be in sump model due to the lack of sapce that i have.

    Thanks
    Nestor

I own the A-200 external (twin 1260 eheims) and even though I am still working on getting the tank up I love the way this is built. From what I read Deltec and H&S share the patent on the needle wheel. Both are excellent skimmer and either way you cant go wrong. I also Own a MCE600 ( hang on Deltec) and that thing rocks. SO either way its a great skimmer!!!

Hi Nestor, I'd recommend the pinwheel-type skimmer & Deltec or H&S would be efficient & reliableBob

i use aqua c ev 180 is work very nice in 75 gallon cost 335 is a very good skimmer why every person recomended only deltec or hs i think aquac is done the same work and cost less is perfect for 65 gallon why pay 600 dollar for the same performance or possible litle more with deltec and pay doble price common use better your money is only 65 gallon

i think aqua c ev 180 is better skimmer that deltec mc500 mce 600 -and ap 600 the best skimmer in deltec coming with ap 701 is a moster and is a lot better in performance and cost1028 dollar is far away that 300-400 skimmer the best buy for this category is aqua c ev 180

Thanks Efrain for your comments i know they work but it has to be an in sump model cause of the lack of space, thats why im looking at H&S skimmer.

What do you guys think about Aqua-c skimmer versus Deltec skimmer any thoughts ?

Also do you know how much air does aqua-c skimmers get like gal per hour or liters per hour VS Deltec ?

                  Thanks

I had used the EV240 prior to my deltec AP850. The EV240 performance is good but down side is the skimmer/foam is pretty unstable. The injector also gets choked easily. Other than that I find that they are pretty good skimmers.
