    hey everyone,

i want to use ZEO on my 20g, but it requires a skimmer. what small skimmer would you recommend? i know the deltec HOB is the best, but i cant afford it (sorry doug :p )...preferably somehting around $100-$150 (i have been looking at the tunze nano DOC, but i dunno if its out yet)

    TIA!

The Nano ReefPack is the way to go, you will have room to put a bag of Zeo into the filter and shake as needed. The skimmer will work fine for your tank by yourself. It is basically the old model 3130 which would skim a 40g well. If you just want a skimmer, look into the Grotech 80, it is interal also, but it is a bit larger.
The Tunze is not in the US yet, but it should be coming soon.

        hi brian,

the main thing im concerned about the DOC/reefpack is how it would look in the tank. does it take up a lot of space?

        TIA, tim

          The dimensions are as follows
          (L4.7 x W4.4 x H13.3in.).
To see how much room it takes up, take a piece of cardboard and make a box the same size and see if you can live with it. The skimmer itself is half the size.

              Sorry,
I do not have any dates yet, I will be talking to Roger on Fri, and will find out if he knows. A lot of times, we don't know until it hits the door.

brian, based on your experience with the previous series of tunze skimmers, how do you think the DOC will compare against say, a remora or something?

                thanks

I personally like the old 3130 better than a Remora. It is slightly cheaper, uses alot less Electricity and skims well. The draw back is that it is in take only. The new Nano has a more powerful pump and should perform even better.
