Hey Nick, what are your first impressions in regards to the performance vs the Deltec. No need for a write up at this point, does it blow it away or what?

Haha i dont know maybe its just been a good day....

Well my first impressions are that the Deltec is an alright skimmer, but you need a feed pump with it, i guess comparable to the external BKs,

BUT the amount of air intake the BKs have in incredible! plus the amount of electrcity the BKs use is fantastic!

anyway the BK blows the lid off the Deltec1

Cool, that is what I figured. If you have a sec, could you measure the distance from the sump floor to the bottom of the return/discharge pipe? (just a rough measurement is all I need). I am gonna be getting this skimmer hopefully next week and am trying to plan my plumbing. I need to return over a 16" tall skimmer tank into the main sump.

                        Thanks

so you mean from the bottom of the skimmer from where the 90 is right?

does yours have 1 or 2 outlets?

mine only has 1 outlet, let me see its about 16"....

NOW you can adjust that height of the discharge so it will vary, i would say maybe 12" to maybe 18".... you will see you can raise and lower the pipe that the discharge comes out of... i think it created back pressure, thus giving you more wet skimming... i think...

I haven't got my skimmer yet so I don't know how many it will have. If you had to run your outlet over a wall/baffle in your sump, what is the highest baffle you could have?
                            Thanks

                              nick.. nice BK...
but do be careful.. cause it's so powerful till once you are in low nurtient stage the BK will ripe all your elements instead which is what happening to me.

So if like running the BK for half a yr later or a yr or when your tank nutrient are very low then dry to reduce the perform of the BK to prevent it from removing most of your elements.
