  • Got my BK finally!

Hey guys well i got my package and let me tell you, this thing had some much packaging peanuts it was crazy!

i got them all over the place, haha!

let me first start off with this was packaged very well (Gary you did an awesome job here)!

and now i have a question,

whats in the box? there are some many peanuts i am not sure what to look for?

i got the 300 internal, so i got the skimmer body (w/ collection cup and pump), then i got 2 more bubble wrapped things, that were the pipes.

mine only has 1 output which is what i wanted!

anyway i know you guys want pics, so i will post them here soon!

now the crappy part is i have to wait until i get the ceramic rocks until i can transfer the tanks and fire this bad boy up!

Oh yeah i forgot to ask, for the drain from the collection cup, what size hose do i use so i can make the drain longer?

also i should start the riser tube at the lowest point and work up correct? and the lets see twisty part (dont really know the name), but that should line up with the dot correct?

and the pump its self has a red piece with 1 dot, i should line that up with the other dot on the pump correct?

thanks again and i promise pics will be up tonight after i get my water change done and work on re-doing the deck.

    thanks again Gary and Madison!

    Nick

Yes, start with the pump dots lined up and yes start with the riser pipe low and raise it to raise the foam in the main body.
The output pipe should be angled so it's not under water.

Once you get it hooked up just so you can see what it does...
Remove the collection bucket and with the skimmer running turn the input adjustment on the Red Dragon. You should see a diffence at the surface of the skimmer body where the foam is overflowing.

Where you ready for a skimmer this big?

Haha i think i am ready for a skimmer this big!

        thanks for the tips,

should there be anything left in the box?

what about a carbon filter? or is that already built in?

        thanks!

Man that sump must be HUUUUGE!!!!

Also taggin' to see what size tubing to get for the drain. That's a nice feature. The Deltec drain cost me $60!

I'm waiting anxiously to see your RC. I'm getting some also but need to get dimensions of my next tank before I order. Are you doing a back wall or just pillers.

I do a 50g water change and the only thing I have to shut off is the BK skimmer. The sump is about 46" x 44" x 22" ID.

                  Nick... looks good!

You'll be able to angle the output pipe to keep it above sump level.
