  • Deltec AP600 feed pump

I finally recieved my Deltec AP600 skimmer and it will be running externally next to my stand. The sump were the drain will be located is about 2.5 feet away from the skimmer.

I was told that if I use the Maxi-Jet 900 it would not be enough power to feed the skimmer due to the head loss. I was thinking about using the Maxi-Jet 1200 then, how would that work out? Is that enough power to feed the skimmer at 2.5ft head loss?

If not, then what pump should I use?

    Thanks

you want 1-2 times your tank volume going true your skimmer per hour, depence how big your tank is, thats how you pick your feeding pump, i would go closer to one time/H, try to get us much raw water as possible to feed your skimmer,

The ap600 needs a feed pump from about 200 gallon
      I think you will need a 250 g. pump
If you start the skimmer (feeding -and recirc. pump) with the air closed ,the waterlevel must raise just to the top of the skimmerbody..

No problem. I'll consider your advice as I am still choosing a good feed pump.

          Thanks
