  • Who's using an H&S skimmer?

I have an A150 on order, and am interested in hearing others experiences with these skimmers.

    Tom,

You can do a search on fliger's posts over in reef central. He is a big H&S nut. I have an a150 on order also (though I am considering going with an a200 instead).

P.S. Don't talk about zeo products over there at rc. It is an zeo unfriendly site.

Tom I am positive that your will be happy with you H&S. They are very well made and they do perform quite well. I have an A110-F2000 running on a tank in the shop and it pulls some nasty stuff out. Lots and lots of micro bubbles in the reaction chamber and basicly none going back into the sump. I prefer the external units over the internal ones but both do the job right. I do maintnence as well and have an A150-F2001 on the tank and it is just awesome. The are pretty quiet. With the cabinet doors closed you can not hear it running. They are super easy to adjust as well. The larger units are really nice and all are built like a tank. The only complaint I would have is H&S Germany does not supply them with a drain on the cup. But nothing that can not be fixed easily.

I have a Euro Reef 6-2 at home on my 75 and it works pretty good as well. Although I think it is a MUST to do the gate valve mod on it whereas with H&S this is not required. I have problems with the ER from time to time trying to run it "wet" and again with H&S I have not encountered this problem.

I will be moving next year some time when the house is ready and I will get an A200-2x1260 or 3x1260. The big ones are just awesome. HTH

Tom, I run the H&S A200 – 2x1060 (external) for about 2 years and I was very pleased with the skimmer. Please notice the pumps are modified and if one of them is damaged it is very cost intensive. I also would recommend to check the process for the needle wheels. After a nonstop two year running I could not notice and abrasion on the needle wheels. IMO the Eheim versions have much more power.

I just got my H&S A200-1260 from Scott at aquariumspecialty... The thing is awesome... It’s only been running for a few hrs and already starting to pull crud out... I can't wait to see it after it breaks in...

H&S skimmer do a great job

I added a H&S a200 external skimmer to my tank and I must say it works great. Easy to adjust and worked right away. I also just got a a150 yesterday for my 75 gal tank . I am in the process of hooking it up.

                Pics of the a200

I am thinking about the A110-2000, can you show some pics of it in action? Is the chamber real milky in bubbles? This is going on another 55 gallon reef I am setting up. How does it compare to the deltec AP600 in performance?
