    coarse coral sand

    It has been some discution about PO4 in the coarse coral sand that are used for the Jetstream 1 Ca reaktror.
    And some peopel have been soaking the coral gravel in RO water to get rid of it.
    How long time has the gravel to stay in the RO water to be cleaned from PO4? Or before i can measur any in the water? I have had 1 kg in a bucket of RO for 24 h and cant measur any on my Salifert test kit!

    Generally I only place the quantity I need for the reactor in RO water for about 3 days, changing the water once a day. The time depends to the PO4 accumulation in the gravel and will differ.

      Ok, sounds like i have ok media then. It is Shurans own coral gravel that I am using.
