  • Help on CA Reactor connection

    Hi there Guys

Please could you help me on this one.

I am constantly having problems with my drip rate. I think my connection between the pump and the reactor is causing me problems.

No matter what I do every time ( almost every day) I have to reset my drip rate, then once I am happy with it I come back and it has changed or even stopped, I have a feeling that my feed line of value is to small and therefore keeps on changing the drip rate resulting in both CA And Alk fluctuation ( and we know how bad this can be )
Could you please post some pictures of your connections and value between your Ca Pump and reactor?

    Thanks

Christiaan, I am running a Schuran reactor since years. I always had the same problems until connecting a peristaltic pump. Now the water flow trough the reactor is constant and so it is much easier to adjust and keep the water parameters stabile. The problem with most of the small values is that they get blocked by mulm very quick.

Christiaan, make sure the pump you use can be operated continuous, this is what not all of the peristaltic pumps tolerate.

I have a spare Aqua-Medic, do you think that will work?

Christiaan, I have no experience with SP3000, but AquaMedic offers different CaCO2 reactors completely with this pump for constant reactor feeding . Should work fine.
