  • Zeovit Reactor Modification

Just thought I would get some comments on my Zeovit reactor. After reading alot of the post about diy reactors and the problem with the stones causing problem with pumping I made mine with an inner sleave made from plastic screen. I got it from a pond supplier and zip tied it together.

      very nice.

just a question though, how come it looks like the tank is very close to the floor?

It must be the angle I took the picture from. That tank is a 75 gal inwall sitting on a regular height stand.

the reactor is on a table

Question - how did you attach the screen to the base? If you can, close up pictures would really help!

I actually modded my reactor last night aswell.. I drilled a ton of holes in the handle and made it a spray bar design.. Now I know the flow is going through the stones and not on the outside of the sleeve...

The problem with mine has always been and will continue to be the smallest stones getting stuck in the bottom plate holes that intersect the edge of the plate.
I've always thought filling these half-holes with silicon would solve 99% of the problems if the silicon will stick to the PVC.

I used to worry about that also Steve blocking the flow form the stones.. Well with the spray bar design that doesn't matter any longer.. The water directly passes over the stones...
