  • Adding Extension for my wavebox

My tank is 5x2x2 150gals. I currently use tunze wavebox and 3000gph return. I plan to add another wavebox (extension) or should i go with the tunze stream? I am not sure if my wavebox is enough for 150gals tank.
    I'm a quiter..... But i'm back now....

i dont think you need an extension, but think you might need to tune your wavebox a litte more,

in that case i would go with a stream, to get more circulation, wavebox is just back an fort really, but you still need the flow, therefor a stream would be my pick,

the wavebox is awesome. If you have room in your tank, i would suggest to get one. Just like you have the real wave in your tank.
Heinz i will go with the Tunze stream 6200. i can hook them up with my wavebox controller.

Dude add circulation. Don't add another wavebox. You've got plenty of wave.

So tunze stream 6200 should be good enough right?

That is a lot of powerhead. I will add another 6200 next month and may be get another protein skimmer.

That what I'm doing in my tank. I set up a wave box in the right side in the coner of my tank and a stream 6100 in the left side to get more circulation.

Personally if it was me i would get 2 6100s, why get a 6200 for a 5 foot tank? no need for it IMO/IME. the 6200 wont do crap for a tank that is only 5 feet long. stick with 2 6100s. i had 4 going in my old 180 and loved them.

what i would do is add 2 6100s, and connect it to the 7095 muticontroller.

you will have to play around with where to place them inorder to not get any "dead spots". you will see what i mean though when you get them.

like others have said you need circulation, not more of a "wave". you need something that will get that detrius into the water column so it can get to your sump where your skimmer is.

you should also play around with the settings that the 7095 has to offer. i loved mine, but wanted a different look for my tank with no visible powerheads or equipment.

for the BK price, contact anyone who sells them, ie. Madison (OUinLA), Scott, Gary, and the list goes on. or captiveoceans.com

post a pic of your tank so i can see the layout and can recommend where you should start the 2 streams and then work from there.

also forgot to say make sure you look at the foot print of the BK300 if you are serious about getting one and make sure you have room for it. because trust me its a big boy.....
