First thoughs on Sequence's UNO Tarpon Pump

i actually got a kit i think, from PA for scratch removal, but it scratched the heck out of my front panel, so i did the Novus series, (3, 2, 1) and it worked.

the power buffer should work well, hopefully i can do all 3 sides tomorrow after work.

How did you scratch it? What products are you using to buff it? I've found that Novus 2 and 3 will do wonders for anything but deep scratches. With those, you need to hit it with some wet/dry sandpaper and micro-mesh first. Either way you do it, it is a LOT of work.

Oh yeah i scratched it up pretty good. It was all hazey and white colored. i hand buffed it though and its 80% better. tomorrow i think i will have time so i can use the power buffer to make it 100% better.

Sweet, glad you are happy with that pump. And also glad the chiller is working the way you wanted it to. What is the story on the front pane of your tank? Did you scratch it or something?

haha thanks i just got the buffer in the mail so i will do that in the next couple days when i get some time, man it would have saved alot of work waiting to get the buffer, but i couldnt stand to look at the tank like that anymore....

yeah i did it all by hand friday night! man was my arm tired, haha. but it worked!

the buffer comes in the mail today so i will hit it again as some areas are still alittle bit scrathced up, but nothing major!

i am glad it came out for the most part.

Well i finally got the 110 feet run of PVC done and finally drilled my sump for the bulkhead i need to plumb it. it took about 3 hours today to finish is up and finish plumbing (had about 10 more feet to do, plus the return to the sump).

Let me first start off saying this pump can move some water. the intake plumbing for the chiller is about 4" off the ground and the output plumbing is about 6" off the ground, but at the end by the tank it goes up to about 2 feet and then into the sump. i have to turn the pump down alo inorder to control the bubbles that i am getting when it returns into the sump.

anyway it is VERY quite for a pressure rated pump, alittle louder than a dart but not by much. very nice pump.

it is VERY large though, about 18" long, 8" wide and it is very heavy compared to a dart.

i am very pleased with thwe pump i have it turned down about 65% right now and i will give it a couple days to see if the microbubbles are worked out on their own. right now its pretty bad. before the chiller went online the tank was very clear and the microbubbles finally went away! but now they are BACK haha, so i will give it a few days to get the new 100 foot run of PVC time to get the air out.

anyway the pump and chiller are very nice.

Alittle note on the chiller it ran for about 40 minutes and pulled the tanks temp down from 80 to 78. i decieded to have the tank run at 78 so thats why it took awhile to pull the tanks temp down i think. but anyway i am very pelased with the chiller. its alittle louder and throws off ALOT of heat! you cant put anything by it, and the fan inside that throws the hot air out is pretty powerful. moves alot of air.

the chiller works very well and since its in my backroom and 100 feet away its not bad at all!

anyway any questions just ask.

i am thinking about plumbing a frag tank/ tank for new arrivals (like angels to make sure they are not nippers) into my setup down the road and i think i would put it on the chillers output plumbing. i think the Tarpon could pump water up another 4 feet no problem! then i would just have the water dump down into my sump like it is now. Its alittle ways off, but we will see.....

i really hope in a week or so these bubbles go AWAY, becasue it took me about 2 months to finally get to the bottom of them and have the display tank looking good. Of course now they are back, haha, figures.
