  • RD dimensions

I currently am running an Awaki 70 (japanese) and all is hard plumbed. I wanted to switch out this w/ an RD....I only have so many inches on the output. Also, what are the inlet/outlet 1"??

in/out are 40mm which is closest to 1.25"
    10x3x2 FOWLR (for now)
    BK400ext
RD12 return, 2 RD12 closed loop, wavebox with extension
    MRC kalkmixer
    IKS

      Thanks Chuck,

Is the outlet/inlet male or female threaded?

How about the height(in.).....from the base to the end of the output.

      I really appreciate it

        http://english.royal-exclusiv.de/shi...ragon-pump.htm

I think the input sits higher than many other pumps.

Most use silicon tubing on the input and output. That reduces the chance for vibrations creating in the plumbing and/or sump.

The ends are slip. I will get more accurate dimensions later.

you can get 40mm to 1.25 or 1.5" couplings (slip/mpt or slip/slip) and conversion unions exist as well.

Intake IS a bit tall. Taller than for the Darts I originally planned for.

Also these are FLOW pumps. that Iwaki 70 is a pressure rated pump. flow characteristics are different.

Thanks again Chuck....Steve that was what I was looking for. What do you all suggest given that Awaki are pressure rated and RD is not. Current output is running at least 6' to 4 returns nozzles ( 2 on each corner )??

            Awaki 70 = 1500g/h @ 4 ft.

Depending on how you are plumbed you may not need a pressure rated pump.

I will use 6.5m RD pump for return....

1 inch PVC pipe for outlet is too small?

I plan to use 1inch pvc pipe b/c outlet of RD is 1inch...

Uhm, Vince for sure the outlet is NOT 1 inch. It may be 25mm which is really, really close, but I guarantee you it's a metric outlet, not imperial.

my 8.2 outlet is smaller then 1" the tubing slips over the RD and the 1" PVC really expands the tubing

The intake size is the same on all pumps at 40 mm. The output size on the 4.5m3 and 6m3 is 25mm, on the 8m3 and 10m3 is 32mm, and the 12m3 is 40mm.
