    guys,
    i start do plumming on my new tank..the rubber gusket should be inside or outside the tank?

    I put 'em on the inside. Towards the water. Dunno if that's "right" though.
    10x3x2 FOWLR (for now)
    BK400ext
    RD12 return, 2 RD12 closed loop, wavebox with extension

      most people put them inside,but i am concern about salt water and rubber.dont u think after some time it my leak?

        It's gonna get wet on either side. The "compression" and "seal" comes through the gasket so...

                  Yes i did silcone on the other side, but this is a glass tank, dont know if it woudl work on acrylic, although for my new acrylic tank i will be using silcone on both sides...... hope it sticks....

                        The problem with silicon on the gasket side is it causes the gasket to continue turning from the lubrication. It then starts to come out from under the flange and not seat where it should be to keep water from traveling the threads.
