  • Question about RO unit attatchment for faucet

    Hey everyone,

So I am getting a RO unit from someone on zeovit but it dosen't come with the attatchment to hook it up to the faucet. He sent me the website where I can get the hook up but I am wondering if you can easily get the hook up at any hardware store or if they are special to every RO unit? By the way it is a Spectrapure I believe.

Yeah, the problem is I don't have the unit yet so I don't know the specific attatchment I need. That is why I was hoping I could go to a hardware store, but maybe I can't.

I believe you can get the fitting at any good H/W store. The feed line for the RO will be 1/4" poly tubing. I prefer the Jaco style push in fittings, but the compression style work too. Just go to your ACE or Lowes and ask. Might stay away from Home Depot with this one. Our local store really don't know squat. Know beforehand which faucet your hooking up to, as different faucets have different threads. If you can take the strainer off the faucet and take with you, then you'll be sure.

Also it you need to add tubing on the pressure side be sure you get pressure rating tubing. Not all of it is... I found out the hard way.

Brad, I used to do this when I lived in my condo. All you need to so is go to Home Depot where the compression fittings are. You need a faucet to garden hose adapter, a female garden hose to female npt adaptor, and lastley a adaptor to go to 1/4" tubing. They sell it you just need to ask someone to help. When I did mine I had someone from HD help me. It can be a pain finding someone who knows though
