  • SpeedGlue

I just received "SpeedGlue" from Korallen-Zucht & the instructions are only in German :smash: I ended up making a thick paste from the dry powder form in which it is supplied & it does hardens quickly. A container seems like it will last a lifetime

Has anyone used this & give a primer on it's mixing? Thnx. Bob

Bob, this is the English version

Instructions for the use of SPEEDGLUE

Estimate the necessary quantity of glue (mixing ratio 5ml water + 1 heaped table spoon glue powder). Add according water quantity and SPEEDGLUE powder in a suitable pot and mix both to a ****geneous mass. With correct mixing ratio the mass should become a knead-measure-like consistency in the pot. The developed mass should be able to be formed with the hand to a ball, without the hand skin surface is moistened by the mass.
If the mass should be to thin or to thick, the consistency can be corrected with glue powder or water. The working time amounts is approx. 5 to 10 minutes. This can be accelerated by use of hot water and retarded by using cold water. The product can be used both, over and under water. It does not leaches harmful substances to the aquarium water.

    Please consider:

    - Lock bundle after usage again and protect it against humidity.
    - With longer storage time (< 6 months) the working time can extend. The product is however further fully functional.
    - Product contains cement and is classified as irritating. If the material has contact with the eyes, wash it out immediately with cold water.

Bob, the key with it is to mix it up to a fairly solid consistency. If it is too watery, it will dissolve when placed in the tank. If it is thick, it works like a charm....

I've used the SpeedGlue twice now & it does take some trial in making the consistency as epoxy in thickness. The mixing ratio 5ml water :1TBP powder is perfect This stuff is fabulous, stronger than superglue gel, hardens comfortably quick & doesn't set the skimmer into overflow as does Greystick. Bob
