  • Ogles Mesoscope...

I am thinking of getting one of these little fellas. Anyone have any thoughts, experience etc.? How about the camera attachment? I should clarify, by "getting it" I mean it is the only item I am thinking of putting on my B-day/Christmas wishlist (December B-day) so things often get combined. I am tired of looking through my magnifying glass and only seeing the stuff in the front of the tank.

            Hi Heinz,

There is no full article on the tank on the webside. I a few weeks it will be placed.

The tank is 200 cm long by 80 cm deep and 70 cm high.

If the inner diameter (ID) of the tube of the viewer that the eyepiece fits into is standard 23mm or 30mm, then it shouldn't be a problem to get an adapter that works ... BUT ... different cameras use different adapters, so you'll need to be sure you get the right one. (Diagram of Mesoscope, specifically, the eyepiece and viewer: http://www.ogles.info/abouttheproduct.aspx. I couldn't find any technical specs ... hmmm.)

One of the best places I've found for getting camera-specific adapters is:
                http://www.microscopeworld.com/digit...on-coolpix.htm

For more information on different ways to adapt cameras:
                http://www.microscopeworld.com/digital/adapter-main.htm

In terms of support, a tripod (or similar apparatus) will be required to support the weight of the camera.

Alicia, I don't know anything about the camera attachments or any of the technical stuff, but I have tried it at IMAC and it is amazing. Not a bad idea about putting one of these on the Christmas wishlist...
