  • About fans in sump

Do you have fans for eliminating humidity from sump water in your tank?
Do you think it is mandatory?

    Thanks..

fans on sump i dont see much effect...
and fans will result in fast evaporation which result in having to keep top up water like crazy...

Well I do have a 4 inch fan that blows air into the stand. Since my stand is totally enclosed I did it to try and keep mold and mildew from growing. Don’t know if it really helps or not but it can’t hurt. HTH

If at first it doesn't fit get a bigger hammer - Beat to fit paint to match

I keep a fan in the sump in addition to those for the lights. Evaporative cooling is very effective but you do have to replace a lot of RO water.

I keep a small 6" clip on fan in my sump to aid in bringing down the temp. It does mean adding more RO water but despite having an open top with hanging pendants the temp still rises beyond what I like when the lights are on in the hot summer months. I shut it down in the winter...or put it on a timer for lights only times.

well you are lucky.. my place are forever summer whole yr round.. staying at 29~33 degree...

and I ever try that and I will be topping up about 30l of water every 2 days. Which is crazy...
