  • Requesting Pics.....

Hey guys i am very intrested in that new rock you guys debued this weekend at IMAC.....

I have a PM into Madison about it, but got excited and thought someone could direct me to a spot to look at some pics or if someone could post some here.

I am looking at doing 1 island out of this stuff and if i like it i may do both of my islands out of it..

Now i figure i will add some LR aournd it to help seed it and so on... So what do you think as long as i give it a good soak and swish it around and change the water out, do you think i will

    a. have a small PO4 jump?
    b. have a small cycle?

I will be using rock from my 180 for my new 275 and wanted to try this rock out...

I will add some smaller peices of LR and attach it to this rock (whats the name by the way) to give it a unique shape and help seed it.

Anyway let me know what you think, espically about the whole PO4 thing and the cycle.

the main means of nutrient export will be ZEO and BK 300 internal....

    thanks!

    Nick

Looks like a lot of people are interested in these rocks and I am one of those. Imagine the corals you can hang off of these.

      Nick,
The rest of the guys are coming back from Chicago Today, so the pictures should be coming in shortly. I just arrive before the show, so all info will soon follow. You will love it, it is called Reef Ceramic.HTH

Invincible that is the same rock, I have a piece in my truck now. I just can't wait to get it in a tank and covered in Coraline. It has been made in Germany for the last 10 years.
          Later,

            Great!

What do you think about my questions? i mean if i add some LR attach to this stuff will i be fine?

And what about PO4 with this rock Madison said if you wash it real well it should not be a conern?

            anyway any close pics?

I hope to do 1 island out of this stuff and see how i like it, if i love it i will do the other island.

i figure i will go 70% this stuff and then 30% LR on my one island tro see how like it maybe 65 to 35?

            we will see...

            anyway what do you think?

            thanks!

Me too i forget where i saw it though....

anyway Edward what do you think about my questions? should the combo of this stuff and some LR be alright? like i said i will try 1 isalnd first if i like it i will try the other.

i will throw the left over LR in the sump.

I plan on getting 1 big island of the ceramic stuff and then attach LR with zip ties to create a very unique island with some intresting places to mount corals.

                thanks guys!

I'm will have a picture of the rock for you tomorrow when I return to the shop, I should not be any problem mixing it in any percentages or with the po4 content.
We were all sitting there to decide what to call it here in the States, but we just used the translation. Edward, I would love to see the full tank shots, we all know your the man on finding us pictures.

Nick, it wil definitely be ok! If you can be patient for about 4-5 months, it will then be covered in coralline. I would boost up your levels though in order for Coralline to grow wild.

When i first started my tank, it was full of Marshall Island base rock, ALL WHITE! Now, it doesnt look the same.

This is when I first put them in.. I just added a new rock with coralline and then it spread to the rest of the tank.

I am not worried about the white color of it, hopefully my LR will transfer coral line over, plus i hope to have most of it covered by SPS....

anyway thanks again guys and post some pics!

                          thanks!

is that one of the back wall peices?

i was looking at the pillars and the outcroping peices.

any pics of those? hopefully Madison will get in touch with me so i can get this stuff ordered soon.
