I've looked at similar bulbs in the past but this 60 bulb version looked interesting enough to place the order.

Finally, a money-saving LED bulb that fits your porch spotlights and the motion-sensor lights on your garage or roofline.

    C. Crane's exclusive spotlight uses just 8 Watts of electricity to power 60 ultra-bright White LEDs. The light is ideal in pitch-black conditions, and casts the signature blue-white light that's as soothing as it is bright. Like all of C. Crane's LED Light Bulbs, the CC Vivid LED Spotlight Bulb will save you money on your electric bill. On average, it will cost you just $4.00 per year to run this LED Flood Light in your home or workplace. Two-year warranty. 8 watts. Fits PAR 38 sized fixtures and works with a dimmer switch.

Warning: Installing the 12V version in a 120V socket will damage bulb.
    Volts:Available in 120V (AC) or 12V (DC)
    Watts: 8

    LEDs:60
    Output:Beam
    Size:5.25” H x 4.75” Dia.

Nice! I hope these become more affordable soon.
I saw some LED prototypes of auto headlights, and was amazed at how bright and how crisp the LED lights were.

let us know how bright it is after you have it installed.

I saw those but the price is like 4 x's as much. Maybe because those are 12 DV and not AC?

I'm going to put this at one end of one of my 6' tanks with a few frags under it. Should be able to compare both growth and color since they'll be frags of the same colonies under MH in the same system.

What type of socket do you use though to plug the spots into?

              could you post a link?

just looked again and see it is available in 120V AC :p

These lights are not availble in a straight blue though right? But I think you could run 20K's and use these to spot light coral Islands maybe. Interesting concept using LEDS.

Can't wait to see this in use!!

the prices on that site seem to be too high.

i usually get my LEDs on www.superlumination.com they also have a much better selection.

                    If you were asking me...
"Medium Screw Base" which is the standard size socket for most home-type lamps.

You could screw it into your lamp in the living room if you wanted to light the ceiling.

Do all the LED's (blue in particular) have the same or similair wave length at 470nm?
