Well heres whats going on.
for the past 4-5 months one of my ballast (Blue Wave VII: 2-250W HQI) keeps blowing blubs on me. So far i have had 4 BRAND NEW bulbs blow on me. i keep replacing them and they would blow. the strange thing is it would happen every month or so, but out of no where.
anyway i spoke with Sunlight Supply and the guy said he needs to have the ballast back to fix it. i said not a problem, but you are going to send me one while you have mine right? He said NO we dont do that anymore due to people that woulde keep the ballast and would send them back.
so what to i do here? i mean hell thats already 240 bucks this stupid thing cost me in bulbs. BUT i cant send the ballast in and be without light for 2-3 weeks!!!!! thats how long it would take, 2-3 weeks.
i mean what do i do here? i narrowed it down to this,
1. get a brand new ballast and send the old one in to be fixed. then get 2 more bulbs because right now i am running old bulbs in the 2 pendants on this ballast until i figure out what to do. dont want to waste more money in bulbs. so it would cost me 270 for the ballast plus 120 for the new bulbs. TOTAL 400 alsmost.....
2. Call Chris (guy at sunlight) up and make him sell me a new ballast at wholesale and take some money off for the amount of bulbs this thing has cost me.
i mean it wouldnt hurt to have a spare ballast on hand, plus can use it on a later tank or frag tank
3. Call Chris up and tell him to figure something out and get me a ballast to use while he fixes mine. its still under warranty and everything. i mean He needs to DO something. i am pissed right now. he basically said well i cant do anything my hands are tied! what the hell is this. customer service has gone down hill in America!
he needs to do something IMO i mean hell atleast get me some new bulbs or something.
i thought i would post this to see whats you guys think and to make sure i am not over reacting before i call him monday.
