  • My new brackets for my LAIIIs

Dave B comes through again. Got me some slick custom made brackets to hold the LAIIIs and effortless raise and lower 'em on actuated hinges. Tres cool...

heck no Eric. I'd probably burn my house down with a welder. These things were built by some "industry" dude. They are balanced very, very, very nicely. Effortless to swing up and down...

Well, the tank looks good, but I do have relative low light zones between the pendants.

Nick, the BLV14k is white with just the barest tint of blue. I do not know if if fluoresces or not b/c there's nothing to fluoresce in the tank. The EVC is a starker brighter white vs the BLV 14k.

                  Chuck,

How about getting the Helio Super Blue T5II for the front edge of the tank and between the Lumenarcs

It's a thought. I kinda like the current "look" though. Wait and see after I throw some inverts in there ya know? You'll see it tomorrow.

And a good one at that. Give me a buzz at the shop when you have a chance. I tried your cell a couple of days ago but I did not leave a message.

Que? What is a Super Blue T5II? Where can I read up on them? I'm happy with the Acticinic+ but am always looking for fun T5 bulbs. Do they come in 54W? Sorry for the hijack. :bootyshak

                              Yo Mig,

The Helios Super Blue is a bulb they came out with about 6 months ago - I am not sure if it is available to the public yet.

Tat's Tropical in Thousand Oaks uses them on a bunch of their reef tanks and the colors are truly spectacular -- In terms of flourescing corals -- Granted these tanks are very blue in color. But the display tank which is all Acans, Lord Howes, and Blastos is thriving with just these blue lights.
