  • Quick Help!

Hey guys well long story short, i got a new DE bulb today and just went to put it in.

i pressed the wrong spot and broke a part off.

you know the metal part that you push into the pendant. you know how there is a white piece of plastic that is right on top of the metal thing. well i broke that off......

so on one side there is just metal and no plastic thing on the end.

think if you are looking down into the pendant and where you push the bulb into the unit you see a white horiztontal piece of platic probably about 1/2" maybe less. i broke that off so you see the metal piece.

    is it ok to use?

i have it running right now and it is running fine.

just want to make sure before i leave tomorrow for the day that i dont risk catching the pendant on fire.

its been running for about 10 minutes and its running fine.

That's the ceramic base - It's very fragile

No worries - It will work fine.

When you are done with the bulb and remove it, make sure the metal tab doesn't get stuck in the clip - You may have to remove it with a pair of needle nose pliers.

kinda off topic, but how do you remove a DE bulb without breaking it?

Some of the bulbs are really tough to install and remove - I always rap a towel around the bulb - Provides leverage and eases my fears about the the bulb shattering in my hand.

Just a little tip for those with DE pendants. I rub the connections with graphite before I install the bulbs. I don't have any problems with removal or installation.
