My biggest hangup right now is the reflector. Do you have any pix of the reflectors for the mogul sockets? Sorry to be a pain but its a seriously major purchase. I was ready to buy but then realized my wife frets more over a bottle of wine than I was doing over a $2K light. ;-)
My tank is 5x2x2 and I plan on keeping it for at least a year. I'd like ONLY two MH bulbs and 4 T5's. Right now the 2 LAIII Minis work really well (250W mogul on HQI) with 2x80W T5 Blue Plus. I was thinking maybe the dual 400W Aquaperfekt so I could raise it and get more spread since I'm used to ROI and Lumenarc reflectors.
Thanks for the help!
David

Check out Aquatinics.

Their hoods are designed so that they don't add any heat to the tank. If you do a search on RC, you'll see that people who have them are very pleased. They also confirm the claims about not adding heat.
I don't have any personal experience, but they are intrigueing. Like you, I am thinking about going from a canopy back to a hood.

Aquaperfekt Photon
Does anyone use one of these pendants? The best pix I could find were from MACNA. I have always used pendants and this time decided to go with a canopy. I hate it. The Mrs said a pendant would be OK if it looked nice. (I showed her pix of G.Alexander's tank, like mine will EVER look like that)
I'm looking for 2x250W mogul and T5. The only 2 that I could find are Aquaconnect and I found out they are not available, nor do they work in the US, and the Photon. I've looked at Aquamedics, Geisemann, Sunlight Supply and they don't have the mogul/T5 combo. The nice part about the Photon also is that it has four T5's, which I love.
Am I missing any brands?
Anyone have pix of the Photon? Like it? Worth it (cuz DAMN its expensive).
I'm in Los Angeles so if anyone has one I could see in person that would be awesome.
Thanks,
