SLS dual 400 watt ballast.

Well got home from work and 1 of my bulbs was not on.. I changed the cords around and turned it on and it fired right up.. Seems one of the capacitors must have went out already.. These are less then 3 months old.. I wonder how long this will take to get fixed? Anybody have any ideas of what I have to look foreword to about getting this fixed or replaced? I called premium but they are already closed...

I have the SLS Maristar system. One of my ballasts was DOA. SLS overnighted a new ballast to me with a return shipping label for the dead one.
Now, here is the funny part...they fixed the dead one and sent it back to me! I called SLS and advised them that they accidently sent me the first one back. The uninterested employee I spoke to this time told me that a new shipping label would be sent. Guess what...never sent! Sooooo...until I hear from SLS that "spare" ballast is running my prop system!

Yea I called the # Steve gave me and they gave me a new # closer to me in Nashville.. The lady said I should have one by the end of the week. I am guessing they will do the same for me. If I have to pay to get it expressed I would do that for sure. I hate having 1 of the lights off... Didn't really even look at the tank tonight because of it. I'm just wierd like that heheh....

Yes, SLS have some uniterested employees alright. I bought a 72" 3 250 watt MH w/T5s from an online vendor. When it arrived it was the wrong fixture, it was the 150 watt version. I called the online vendor who I ordered it from to get it correected. They informed me the fixture was drop shipped from SLS in TN. So they would have the correct fixture sent out asap. Well I get the new correct fixture arrived, but the trucking company did not pickup the incorrect fixture. I called the online vendor and informed them and was told that SLS was handling the return on the fixture. I have yet to hear from them so I have a brand new in the box 72" 3 150 watt mh w/T5s sitting here. I am going to wait a month or two then sale it.

I finally got the cap wednesday and got the ballast going... Still a couple weeks went by and they only had to ship from Nashville..

Well lets make it at 5 months 2 out of the 4 capshave burned up.. Came home last night after the BB game to smell burning plastic.. Went right down to the reef tank and saw a lite flickering.. I knew right then another cap had gave out. Funny I run e ballast before and got these because they are bullet proff and nothing but blown caps and $50 increase a month in power consumption.. Really disappointed with all the hype about SLS.. Funny thing is when I changed the last one I saw they did not use Advance caps.. I asked the guy about it and he said they were trying therse caps and had nothing but troubles. Today I am going to ask for 3 caps and just replace the crappy no name caps they came with. Just ranting as last time it took a LONG time to get a new cap from them when they are not far from me here in Il and they are in nashville TN.. I just hate not having a lite over that area again for another week or so...
