AC 14+VHO actinic03 question

Hi All~~

Some people said VHO 03actinic is just for dawn effect or cheat our eyes
(for looking good) and some people said it is very helpful to SPS coral
Currently I use AC14 250w bulb...If I add 2 VHO 03 actinics, it will be helpful
to coloration?

Of course My tank will be more dim and blue...

What is your opinion?

Just my opinion ,although I have seen great colors without em as well ,I just feel its more total light ,and i see alot of vho only tanks with mostly attinics on em and and it seems corals love em

I installed 75watt 2ea actinic03 VHO yesterday night,and turned on lights...
Wow....It was a new world..
In AC14 only, I could not many green flourecent, but VHOs makes a green flourecent
world...so beautiful..brown corals popped up green,and the coral I think it is bleaching
status looked powerful green too...
When I installed BLV10K+vho...it looked so yellow to me..Maybe 2 75watt VHO is weak
to support the BLV yellowish look..a little disapointed..

I did not install AC14+vho yet(I will do today..)

and I wonder BLV14 look.. I heard it is more white than Blv10K...

Gosh, I agree with the yellow from the BLV-10K & those were on the HQI ballasts. I switched to 13K Giesmann & love the white/bright coloration. I'd be interested, Vince, in what you think of the 14K- BLV-400W-SE, thnx. Bob

I installed AC+VHO about 10days ago...

I am not sure it is because Actinic, but brown SPS is turning puple (increasingly..)

I am very happy for it...

Hi Vince, VHO actinics do provide our corals with a light spectrum that we can not obtain from MH's. Also to help our coral's chocolate to blue-purple, double your PIF dosage for a time Bob

I agree, I have found PIF to be a very good suppliment. I use it daily at the recommended dose...
