Glass Covers

Just out of curiosity, do glass covers (presuming they are clean) have any negative effects on the light penetration for optimum coral growth? I've had Oceanic glass covers on my tank for a few years now to keep the noise down and also keep my "jumpers" in the tank. It just dawned on me that they may not be the best for the corals. (I have 2 - 250W DE 10K BLV's and 2 - 55W t5 actinics)

glass will filter out some of the light. how much depends on how clean they are and what type of glass. They also trap heat.
