I am going to get the bulb next week, but then I saw they might not work with the ballast I have. I have a ballast from cooltouchlighting and I think it is an m58 (magnetic) ballast. Any ideas?

Hi Brad, it will be fine with your ballast, running slightly more "blue" tint than with a HQI-PFO ballast which renders slightly more "blue-white" & slightly brighter.

Look on Sanjays lighting site for more info on this combo. I can tell you it is not a good match , turns a super bulb into a weak chinese copy of itself. You will need a different ballast for this bulb. It will fire but not come near what we love it for.Comment

A magnetic HQI (M80) ballast will bring out the best in the SE AC 14K. An IceCap electronic would be the next best choice.
