Hi, I have a 40 gallon(48x15 or so x 15 or so) with a 8" deep sandbed on the left, sloping to a 4.5" deep sandbed, sloaping even more to a 3" sand bed on the right. Anyways, right now I have dual 55/65w pc's along the length of the tank(not side by side) Anyways, I was thinking about replacing them(currently both atentics, I realize I can never keep corals with atentics only) with 92) 50/50 half 10k half atentic bulbs. (Would that be enough for polyps and softies???)
OR...taking the whole super ugly diy system off and using a single 70w 10k DE metal halight bulb.
If I put this fixture(sold at hellolights) 2 feet above the aquarim, would it have enough intensity to keep at least softies and polpys???(For reasons I dont want to explain, I can only use one 70w bulb).
Would that work??? Sounds fun, total cost of the fixture is $240 though
Would it work? Thanks
