  • About Photoperiod

Is there any minimum Photoperiod hours for 250w? when I keep SPSs?

Is it related to PAR or Spectrum? (I think PAR is related)

I run my t5 and vho actinics 12 hrs and 4-400 watt MH's 9 hrs a day.. I am using 20k for my MH so that is the reason I run them longer "less par for growth".. If I ran a 10k I would prob only run them 7-8 hrs..

If I use 10K or 65K 400watt bulb, Can I reduce the photoperiod? compared with
            10K or 65K 250watt bulb?

Vince, I run my blue T5 for 12 hours and the 250 W bulbs for 7 hours.

The differences in the lighting period between 250 W and 400 W are not to strong, but if you use for example 1000 W bulbs the lighting period has to be adjusted. Running such a bulb longer then 10 hours can burn your corals really quick.

So I would say yes, the lighting period is linked to the strength of the used bulbs.
