  • a few lighting questions

i am thinking about getting a tank that is 60" (5 feet) long. which commercial MH fixture (250w DE) would you use to light it? to the best of my knowledge, none of the companies out there make a 5 foot version

also, what do you guys think of the 10K BLV?

one more question: has anyone heard of the aquasunlight NG by aquamedic? i saw it in one of the coral mags, but cant seem to find it.

    -thanks

I intalled BLV and AC in my tank. This combination is very nice in growth and color.
so I do BLV in center and ACs are in both side. I use 3 PFO minipendant.
two of them for 250watt type, and center(for blv) is for 400watt type. this type can be modified to
    250watt.

doesnt the pheonix/AC have nearly equal PAR to the BLV10K?

yes, PAR numbers are very close

The BLV is much yellow/whiter than the Phoenix.

You want a "fixture"? I'd use either the Maristar or the Acrolight, the 48" versions and just accept relatively dark zones on the ends of the tank.

the maristar comes with T-5's. if i use t5 and the pheonix, wont the tank look kinda blue?
